Suit challenges delay in COVID-19 testing reimbursement

The lawsuit argues that the state’s plan delays reimbursement of COVID testing claims, violating deadlines set by Senate Bill 510 and the Knox-Keene Act.

A lawsuit in San Francisco Superior Court takes aim at a plan by the state Department of Managed Health Care that it says falls short of requirements for retroactive coverage of COVID-19 tests.

According to the complaint by the California Medical Association, CMA, the plan known as APL 23-021 would delay reimbursement of COVID testing claims, violating a deadline set by Senate Bill 510 and the Knox-Keene Act.
