UC, Mattel to settle dispute over $50M children's hospital pledge
The UC Regents had accused the toy giant of reneging on the promised donation, and instead offering in-kind contributions such as Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels.
The University of California Regents and Mattel Inc. have reached a settlement in a lawsuit filed last November in Los Angeles County over $50 million that the toy giant pledged to the UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital before changing its mind.
