VA official testifies veteran housing placements are up, but can't recall service areas
Sally Hammitt, chief of the Community Engagement & Reintegration Service at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare, took the stand on Friday morning as week one of a class action trial ended.
Officials with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs took to the stand in federal court on Friday to tout the progress its Los Angeles healthcare branch has made in eliminating veteran homelessness in throughout the county. However, vague answers and a seeming lack of knowledge about the department's service areas left some veterans in the gallery unimpressed.
