DOJ accuses San Diego towing company of violating servicemembers civil relief act
"When towing companies ignore their legal obligations under the SCRA, it can have serious financial consequences for servicemembers," Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division stated.
The U.S. Department of Justice sued Tony's Auto Center Inc., a towing and auto repair company in Chula Vista, for alleged violations of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
The case, filed in the Southern District of California, centers on the illegal auction of a vehicle belonging to an active-duty Navy lieutenant.
