California judges in line for 2.6% pay bump

AB 181, which grants judges and other state workers a raise, is headed to Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk.

California judges would get a 2.6% pay increase under a bill now on Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk.

The Assembly passed AB 181 on Thursday 75-1. The bill would confirm new contracts for a variety of state bargaining units, including California Highway Patrol officers, firefighters and scientists.

Judges will get a 2.6% increase under the deal. The bill appropriates $15.3 million from the state's General Fund to pay for the increases.
