Don't Welcome Gangs Into the Political Process

In his op-ed piece, "To Care for Society, Gangs Need a Say in Its Politics" (March 2 Daily Journal), R. Konrad Moore states that gangs need to be brought into the political process.

Sure. Why not? Let us invite the La Cosa Nostra to present its view on local government contracts. Neo-Nazi gangs can give us input on sundry First Amendment matters. Mexican gangs surely have something to contribute on immigration matters.

Must we be so open-minded that our brains fall out?
