Judge Carolyn Kuhl is a very fine jurist and Mark Pulliam is, of course, entitled to his opinions. ["Restoring the Rule of Law in California," Feb. 25]. However, now that he resides in Texas he should feel quite comfortable with his ultra-conservative opinions. His spin on Gov. Jerry Brown's judicial appointments does a disservice to former Supreme Court Justices Rose Bird, Cruz Reynoso and Joseph Grodin, who were victimized by a well-financed campaign of misinformation led by corporate interests which used the death penalty issue to rid themselves of justices that supported evening the playing field for the consumer.
