Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges | Los Angeles

He's not called “The Mighty Quinn” for nothing. His competitive streak ranges from the courtroom, where he’s one of the state’s most sought-after business litigators, to beyond. He’s competed twice in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships, in 1999 and 2004. This summer, he scored a victory for Mattel in a fierce fight over rights to the lucrative Bratz doll line, convincing a federal court jury to find that rival Bratz manufacturer MGA illegally worked with a Mattel employee to conceptualize the edgy doll. But he hit a snag when jurors awarded Mattel only $100 million out of the $2 billion the company sought. Now, he plans to seek a court order barring MGA from making Bratz. He’s also preparing for a new phase of the trial, in which Mattel accuses MGA of trade secrets theft.
