Employment, Breach of Contract, Real Property, Professional Negligence, Personal Injury & Inverse Condemnation

Judge Solner joined ADR Services, Inc. in 2014 and has mediated and arbitrated scores of cases in the areas of employment, breach of contract, personal injury, professional negligence, real property, and inverse condemnation.

Having been described as "smart" and "forceful when needed", Judge Solner's outstanding legal knowledge, coupled with his "legendary patience" and empathetic listening skills, have resulted in the successful resolution of many difficult disputes.

Judge Solner was appointed to the bench in 1997, initially presiding over criminal cases for three years. He then presided over general civil trials at Stanley Mosk for the next 14 years before ultimately being assigned to a dedicated civil settlement department, where he served for two years until his retirement from the bench in 2014.

Prior to his judicial career, Judge Solner graduated from USC with a degree in International Relations. Upon graduation, he became a commissioned Air Force officer, just in time to find himself flying electronic jamming missions over North Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

After his release from four years of active duty, Judge Solner obtained his J.D. from Loyola Law School. He began his legal career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles, where he prosecuted numerous cases, wrote appellate briefs, and argued cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge Solner went on to become a Partner at Thelen, Marrin, Johnson and Bridges, trying primarily professional negligence cases. After ten years with the firm, Judge Solner took over a solo practice from a retiring attorney, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in State and Federal Courts until his appointment to the bench in 1997.

Judge Solner ran track at USC and years later went on to run marathons and compete in triathlons. To this day, he manages to ski 30 days a year.
