Interviewed for her 2018 Daily Journal Profile, defense counsel in a hard fought employment discrimination and wrongful termination action credited Judge Bruguera for brokering a resolution, even though the case "seemingly had no chance of settlement in mediation," saying that she "followed up at every step until the ink on the settlement dried."

The Hon. Suzanne G. Bruguera (Ret.) proudly joined ADR Services after 27 years as a judge of the Los Angeles Superior and former Municipal Courts, with the entirety of her time on bench spent in civil assignments. Judge Bruguera is known for negotiating difficult settlements and for conducting controversial high publicity jury trials. Assigned for over 15 years to a prestigious unlimited jurisdiction independent calendar court in the Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, she handled the wide variety of cases required in such a demanding assignment. She is a well-respected jurist, known for being firm, fair, and able to settle cases which other settlement officers could not. As a professional neutral, she has handled many mediations, arbitrations, and has served as a discovery referee and as a partition referee.

She is extremely prepared and known to have a deep appreciation for the reality that whether or not settled then, the mediation session itself may only be the beginning of a long process that requires time and commitment by the mediator. She is also known to have developed a keen understanding of jury attitudes which is helpful in the evaluative process, including assisting in mock trials.

Her experience as a judge, as a Deputy Attorney General in the Business and Tax Section handling complex business and tax matters and prosecuting physicians for Medi-Cal fraud, as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles, and as a private real estate attorney at Voorhees, Knable, and Voorhees, has given her the depth of knowledge necessary to serve as a professional neutral in a wide variety of cases. She respects and likes lawyers, and appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with them.
