Actress Lori Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded not guilty to charges that they paid college officials $500,000 to ensure their daughters' acceptance to USC, according to court records filed Monday.
The couple waived their right to appear for arraignment in a Boston federal court Monday and entered their pleas electronically, court records show. The couple was named along with 17 other parents in a second superseding indictment last week that added charges of conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering stemming from the nationwide college admissions scandal.
Federal prosecutors have also charged college officials in a separate case with racketeering for their role in the scandal.
