Judge Bruce A. Young and Judge Kevin G. DeNoce are the new presiding and assistant presiding judges of the Ventura County Superior Court.
The new terms began on Aug. 13 and will last through 2022.
Young was named to the bench by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger 13 years ago and was previously the assistant presiding judge. He was named Judge of the Year by the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association in 2015.
Before that, he was a commissioner and deputy district attorney. Young is currently assigned to felony settlement conferences. He has handled trials, arraignments and juvenile dependency.
DeNoce was appointed by Schwarzenegger in 2008 and was named Judge of the Year by the same association in 2017. He was a commissioner and sole practitioner before his appointment.
DeNoce's assignment includes civil trails and California Environmental Quality Act cases.
