Robinson Calcagnie, Inc.

Newport Beach

Personal Injury

Mark Robinson, Jr. is a widely recognized trial lawyer whose distinguished career has achieved an astounding amount of success, along with co-counsel, having obtained over $6 billion in jury verdicts alongside settlements that far exceed this figure.

His background has led him to hold leadership positions in numerous mass tort multidistrict litigations. Robinson serves as the lead/liaison counsel in the California Talcum Powder Cases.

When asked about his recent work, Robinson humbly answered, "Well, I'm not going to go into individual cases, but basically, what I've been working on with my team are the talcum powder cases against Johnson & Johnson." He went on to explain that they currently have approximately 1,100 of these cases.

However, the journey has not been without its challenges.

Remarkably, Robinson and co-counsel had to navigate two bankruptcies initiated by Johnson & Johnson. He found himself shuttling back and forth between California and New Jersey, where the company is headquartered.

It was a bankruptcy judge in New Jersey who ultimately dismissed Johnson & Johnson's second bankruptcy attempt. Despite cancer victims' pleas for a six-month ban on future bankruptcy filings by the talc company, the judge in the case rejected this request.

Robinson was one of the three co-leads in the Route 91 Las Vegas Shooting Cases, alongside Robert T. Eglet and Kevin Boyle. Their dedication and hard work resulted in an extraordinary $800 million settlement. Robinson said none of the settlements would have resulted in such a high volume without the hard work of the entire home office of Robinson Calcagnie, especially his son, Daniel S. Robinson.

Robinson's legal career extends beyond his involvement in high-profile cases. He has served as the Past National President of various esteemed organizations, including the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2014, Orange County ABOTA in 2013, and the Consumer Attorneys of California in 1999.

His exceptional contributions to the legal field have earned him induction into several trial lawyer halls of fame, including the American Association for Justice, the National Trial Lawyers Association, the State Bar of California, and the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association.
