Fennemore Craig extended its growth in California, announcing a merger with Sullivan Hill Rez & Engel in San Diego that will be effective Thursday, Feb. 1.
Robert Allenby, managing partner at Sullivan Hill, will manage Fennemore's San Diego office. He said in a statement that the merger "heralds an expansion of both expertise and regional reach that can only improve the quality of legal services that Fennemore and we can provide."
Twenty-one attorneys from Sullivan Hill will join the firm in San Diego, bringing to 25 the total number of attorneys in San Diego. Fennemore entered the San Diego market in April 2022 with a merger of Gresham Savage Nolan & Tilden.
One lawyer from Sullivan Hill will join Fennemore's Las Vegas office, where it already had 20.
Fennemore, which has its origins in Phoenix, has aggressively moved into the California market since 2020, when it merged with Dowling Aaron, a 50-lawyer law firm that was based in Fresno. The firm now has 122 attorneys in 10 offices in California.
"We're not just expanding our San Diego presence with the accomplished lawyers of Sullivan Hill," Fennemore CEO and managing partner James Goodnow said in a statement. "We share a forward-looking vision and a client-first mentality to deliver legal services and solutions tailored to clients' needs."
The Sullivan Hill group specialize in insurance coverage, construction, commercial bankruptcy, real estate transactions and leasing, as well as business and commercial litigation.
