Family court judge knows impact her rulings have

Back in the '90s, the student who would become Riverside County Superior Court Judge Kristi E. Hester got temporarily derailed on her path to a legal career.

So she took a job as a resident counselor at a group home for emotionally disturbed girls. The experience got her back on track, and it stays with her now in her family law assignment at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
