Alameda County Judge Victoria S. Kolakowski is known as one of four transgender judges in the nation, and the first elected to a court of general jurisdiction.

She has traveled the world to speak about transgender issues and is a past president of the International Association of LGBTQ+ Judges.

“This is part of what I do,” Kolakowski said. “I can be very open and vulnerable about who I am.”
