Appointed just over a year ago to the Sacramento County Superior Court, Judge Augustin R. Jimenez oversees a fast-paced courtroom with up to 70 cases a day, ranging from small claims to unlawful detainers and traffic violations.

With many self-represented litigants, Jimenez said one of the key challenges is allowing people to present their case while also keeping things moving along in a busy courtroom with limited time.
