WEST COVINA -- Balancing both sides in unlawful detainer cases is the key to resolution, and so is negotiation, Commissioner Lynette M. Gridiron Winston emphasized.

"It's not an easy assignment because you are dealing with people who are going to be displaced from their homes," she said. "There's certainly a level of compassion and sympathy to the tenants, but you also have to understand the landlord as well."
