After 20 Years, Justice's Masterpiece May Be His Courthouse

Now in his 20th year on the 5th District Court of Appeal in Fresno, Presiding Justice James Ardaiz has spent the last couple of years overseeing the construction of a new courthouse. Ardaiz has a reputation for holding attorneys to the same high standards to which he holds building contractors.

      FRESNO - James A. Ardaiz had a vision for how he wanted the new appellate courthouse to look, so when it came time for design, the presiding justice sketched his ideas on a napkin and handed it to the architect.
