LOS ANGELES - The musical call of the mobile phone in Judge Stephen M. Moloney's courtroom played like a trumpet blare in a library.
The owner of the phone, seated in the gallery, glanced apprehensively toward the bench and quickly silenced the ring.
Moloney, conferring with attorneys, never flinched. He doesn't let the little stuff rile him.
