SAN JOSE - Erica Yew has felt the pressure of having to respond calmly after a rude outburst or other tense courtroom situation.
Keeping above the fray in those instances has gotten easier after 12 years on the Santa Clara County bench, she said.
And as the new chair of the Commission on Judicial Performance, Yew has a daily reminder of the importance of maintaining that judicial temperament.
