SACRAMENTO — From his office window, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher D. Jaime of the Eastern District can see where much of his family’s history played out.
Six floors above the old Sacramento railyards, he can see the site of the old Bercut-Richards Cannery, where several of his ancestors worked after emigrating from Mexico in the 1930s. In the 1940s and 1950s, his grandfather painted the insides of rail cars nearby.... (continued)
