JOSHUA TREE — Joel Agron has managed to achieve something like a legal hat trick. He represented clients as a public defender then oversaw their divorces as a family law commissioner and now he’s seeing some of those same faces as a criminal court judge.

That’s one of the realities of being a small town judge in the High Desert, but Agron said he doesn’t dwell too much on the past when former clients get in trouble.
