LOS ANGELES — When budget cuts hit the superior court probate department several years ago, Judge Marvin Lager was tapped as a settlement judge to save money by preventing cases from heading to trial.
He still has the job but enjoys more about the work today than just saving the court money. Setting families on a path toward mending their relationships is something the judge finds particularly satisfying.
