LOS ANGELES — It may be a somewhat divisive approach among lawyers, but Judge Lisa Lench has her reasons for paneling an entire jury pool at once ahead of complex and lengthy criminal trials.

“I know some lawyers don’t like that, but it seems to me that it makes jury selection go a lot more efficiently,” she explained.
