LOS ANGELES — Judge Wendy Chang has one of the heaviest calendars in the state court system, averaging 7,500 cases a year.

Her courtroom in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse serves as the Los Angeles Superior Court system’s sole clearinghouse for limited civil jurisdiction cases, working them up to trial readiness before passing them off to an available trial judge.
