MERCED — Shortly after law school, Shelly Seymour found herself at the epicenter of Iowa’s farm crisis, a brand of calamity not seen since the Great Depression.
“My first job was doing bankruptcy work in Iowa farm reorganization,” she said. “The 80s were a bad decade for the state of Iowa. It was very economically depressed.”
