REDWOOD CITY — In a literal sense, the old axiom, “If the shoe fits, wear it,” generally doesn’t apply to Judge Amarra Lee.

The soft-spoken, tall Bay Area transplant wears a size 15 and makes her own shoes.

“When I was growing up, it was either you wore old lady house shoes or a drag queen’s five-inch stilettos,” Lee recalled.
