Paz and Lehot have been named co-managing partners, succeeding Rich Scudellari, who served as managing partner and co-managing partner of the office since 2012. Prior to the appointment, Paz worked as vice office managing partner for Silicon Valley and is the co-chair of the firm's transactional tax practice. She focuses on advising clients in federal and state tax issues in mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs, restructurings, limited liability companies and other pass-through entities, liquidations and other significant transactions. Lehot works as the co-chair of DLA Piper's emerging growth and venture capital practice, focusing in the areas of corporate, securities and mergers and acquisitions law, advising public and emerging private companies and their venture capital and private equity investors from formation to liquidity. This includes public offers and private placements of equity, equity-linked and debt securities, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, spinoffs, strategic investments and joint ventures as well as corporate governance and securities compliance matters.
