On Nov. 17, 1994, plaintiff Bonnie Shimada, a 53-year-old self-employed advertising specialist, was injured when she tripped and fell over a tire stop in the parking lot of defendant Emile Villa's Restaurant. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence theories of recovery.
