On April 27, 1995, the plaintiffs, a 27-year-old welder and a 35-year-old painter, were traveling in a van when the brakes failed on the defendants' welding truck. The defendants' truck sideswiped the plaintiffs' vehicle, puching it into another vehicle. The plaintiffs brought this action against the defendants based on negligence theories of recovery.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiff painter made a statutory demand of $99,999.99, reduced to $69,999.99. The plaintiff welder made a statutory demand of $69,999.99 increased to $149,999.99.
