Facts

From Jan. 1, 1983 through April 1, 1994, approximately 1,391 detached single family homes were constructed. The homes were located in 12 different subdivisions in Imperial County. The plaintiffs, over 1,300 owners of homes in the subdivisions, brought this class action against the developer based on several theories of recovery, including construction defects and negligence.

The settlement was reached approximately two years and two months after the case was filed. MEDIATION: Mediation proceedings were held over a period of one and one-half years before David L. Jenkins of Jenkins and Associates resulting in the reported settlement.
