Plaintiff Chock Yee owns a ranch in Fresno County which he used in connection with a commercial squab-growing operation between 1985 and late 1991. Plaintiff then approached Defendant Foster Farms regarding a contract to raise chickens. Plaintiff was told orally and in writing that Defendant Foster Farms would issue him a grower contract if he made certain improvements to his ranch to the satisfaction of Defendant Dave Brennan an employee of Defendant Foster Farms. Plaintiff liquidated his stock of breeder pigeons and shut down his squab business and then made various improvements to his ranch.

Settlement Discussions

Defendants contend they made a 998 offer in the amount of $10,000 and Plaintiff demanded $100,000.
