Plaintiff file clerk had been employed 4 years by Defendant city's municipal court in 1985 at the age of 72 years. After two months in permanent-employee status, she was 76 years of age and became visually impaired. During 1989 to 1992, Plaintiff alleged that she could have handled broader job duties if Defendant had only provided her with adaptive equipment. Plaintiff took a medical leave in 1993; she did not claim wrongful termination or constructive discharge. At the time of this settlement, Plaintiff was 82 years of age.

Settlement Discussions

Plaintiff contends she demanded $200,000 and Defendant offered $25,000. Defendant contends Plaintiff's demand was $300,000.
