Facts
On August 26, 1992, a 47-year-old retired military officer was riding his motorcycle southbound on Marguerite Parkway in the city of Mission Viejo. Defendant was driving his Ford Explorer northbound on Marguerite Parkway, towing a trailer owned by Defendant corporation, the driver's employer. As each approached the intersection of Campus Plaza, Defendant made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist; the motorcycle collided with the side of Defendant's trailer. At the time of the incident, the defendant driver was in the course and scope of his employment.

Plaintiff contends he made a 998 demand of $1,100,000 and Defendant made no offers prior to this result.
