Facts
In April 1988, the plaintiff began working for the defendants as a receptionist. In September 1988, the plaintiff was promoted to the position of field deputy. Over a four-year period, defendant repeatedly grabbed, groped and manhandled the plaintiff as well as several other female employees and often in the presence of other employees. In April 1992, the office manager told the plaintiff that she was going to be terminated, but the plaintiff was given an opportunity to first resign. The plaintiff tendered her involuntary resignation effective April 24, 1992. The plaintiff complained to the defendant about his unwanted touchings, unwelcome comments of a sexual and sexist nature and how his behavior gave tacit permission to other men in the office to behave in a similar manner.
Settlement Discussions
Two C.C.P. 998 offers by plaintiff were ignored by the defendants.
