Plaintiffs are current and former general managers of defendant ULTA Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance Inc. Plaintiffs filed suit in connection with unpaid overtime compensation and other wage and hour violations.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs contended that ULTA misclassified general managers in California as exempt from overtime compensation under state law.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied that general managers were misclassified.

Result

The case settled for $3,650,000. The court approved a settlement class, awarded the class representatives $10,000 each, and gave final approval to the settlement.
