Facts

Worldwide Subsidy Group LLC sued Worldwide Pants Inc., a television and film production company founded and owned by former late-night talk show host David Letterman, involving a contractual dispute.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant allegedly entered into an agreement with plaintiff, granting plaintiff its rights to collect royalties for airings of television shows produced by defendants, most notably "The Late Show with David Letterman," outside of the United States. Defendant allegedly reneged on its promise to continue allowing plaintiff to collect royalties from the airings, which was worth millions.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant severed its ties with plaintiff after plaintiff's co-founder was convicted of mail fraud related to its royalties deals. Notwithstanding the severance, defendant claimed that plaintiff's claims were time-barred.

Result

The court dismissed the action as time-barred.
