Facts
Plaintiffs filed suit against three "get-rich-quick" schemes, including "John Beck's Free & Clear Real Estate System," for deceiving consumers with phony claims that they could make easy money using the programs. Yet despite the marketers' claims, nearly all consumers who bought their systems lost money. Defendants also sold personal coaching services, costing up to $14,995.
Result
The Court ordered the Defendants to pay $478 million. The order also imposed a lifetime ban, putting three of the defendants permanently out of the infomercial and telemarketing businesses.
