On October 12, 1992, employees of Defendant Impala Carpets & Drapes, Inc., were installing carpet in one of Plaintiff Barbara Reed's rental units. Reed was a 52-year-old property manager. Reed walked down the hall to inspect the progress in the bedrooms. As she reached for the light switch in the hall, she tripped and fell into the bathroom.
