Facts
On Oct. 1, 1992, decedent Nestor Salazar, a 46-year-old machinist, underwent surgery to drain a pancreatic pseudocyst. The cyst ruptured and was drained with a Penrose drain. The plaintiffs' decedent died on the second day of post operation. The plaintiffs, the decedent's wife and children, brought this wrongful death action against the defendant doctors based on medical malpractice and negligence theories of recovery.
