On June 22, 1994, plaintiff Paul Samarin, a 56-year-old auto mechanic, was driving his 1982 Volvo at 18th and Union when his vehicle was rear ended by a vehicle operated by defendant Susi Klaussen. The defendant admitted liability. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on a negligence theory of recovery.
