Facts
For a several year period ending in March 1992, plaintiff Jaime Nahman, a psychologist, worked as an independent contractor psychologist for the defendant psychiatrist, Brian P. Jacks. The plaintiff conducted psychological and neuropsychological testing and evaluations of patients referred through the defendant's workers' compensation practice. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendants, two corporate defendants and an individual defendant (as alter ego), based on breach of contract and common count theories of recovery.

The plaintiff made a settlement demand for $87,000 plus fees. The defendants made a settlement offer of compromise for $1,500.
