Facts

An elderly gentleman was hospitalized for a fall at home. While in the emergency room, he developed atrial fibrillation and was hospitalized. The patient continued to deteriorate and was ultimately discharged to a respiratory hospital where he arrested and died. An autopsy demonstrated bacterial peritonitis from a PEG tube leak.
