Facts

The plaintiff hired the defendant construction company to perform new construction and remodeling work for a residential property located in the Hollywood Hills. The construction involved a residence building, a pool tower, a swimming pool and pool deck. The plaintiff contended that the property was negligently constructed and, as a result, there was damage due to water intrusion.

Settlement Discussions

The case was settled during mediation on Dec. 12, 2002 before Special Master Alexander S. Polsky at JAMS Orange County at $600,000 which was paid to the plaintiff by the general contractor and subcontractors.
