Facts

The plaintiff, Marie Sievers, was involved in a serious car accident. The other at fault driver had liability limits of $100,000 which were paid. These limits were inadequate to fully compensate the plaintiff for her injuries. The plaintiff had an Umbrella Policy through State Farm. At one time, the Umbrella Policy provided underinsured motorist limits of $2 million. However, that coverage was cancelled prior to the accident. Accordingly, the plaintiff was unable to recover any underinsured motorist benefits.
