According to the plaintiff: On July 13, 1999, the plaintiff, then 87 years old, was injured on the defendantÆs
premises when she was dropped during a transfer of her from her wheelchair to her bed. The plaintiff had been
a resident of the defendantÆs skilled nursing facility since 1995. Before the incident, the plaintiff had been
diagnosed with advanced AlzheimerÆs Disease and she could not ambulate on her own.
As a result of the fall, the plaintiff suffered two fractures of her lower left leg. The plaintiffÆs present condition
is that she has a "non-healed" fracture of her lower left leg and, as before the incident, is unable to ambulate on
her own.
Settlement Discussions
The plaintiff demanded $350,000. The defendant made no offer.
