Facts
FACTS & CONTENTIONS: The claimant, 30, was a right-hand physical therapist who sustained traumatic
injury to her left wrist on Oct. 27, 1996.
The claimant alleged that the fracture was inappropriately treated and that she developed a chronic distal radial
ulnar joint dislocation and subluxation that was not timely diagnosed and treated.
The claimant contended that the defendant failed to utilize a long-arm cast; failed to have her followed-up in a
timely manner by an orthopedic surgeon. The claimant maintained that she was seen by a physicianÆs assistant.
The respondent contended that the utilization of a long arm cast is optional.
