Facts
On Jan. 19, 1999, the plaintiff fell down several stairs in an unlit stairwell in a residential apartment building in
Pasadena owned by the defendants. She injured her left ankle.
The plaintiff contended that the lights in the stairwell had burned out and that the defendants had knowledge of
this.
The defendants contended that they had no knowledge of the burned out lights and that
the accident did not occur as stated by the plaintiff.
