On Nov. 8, 2000, the plaintiff, a 44-year-old female student was driving eastbound in the number two lane on Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta. The defendant was traveling westbound in the opposing lane when he proceeded into the center and then turned directly left, directly into the driver's side of the plaintiff's 1991 Honda Civic. The defendant claimed that the knee injury was unrelated to the accident and that the soft tissue injuries were over treated.
